So basically I can add in his custom Oems, remove the same things Jeff did from the core kitchen in his description post, add back in the few items I wanted in the Rom, cook it up and have a slightly modified Jeff's CS rom? Does that sound right? If not please let me know where I'm going wrong. Jeff's work is fantastic, and to be able to build off his base setup is what I was looking for. |

That is exactly what you should be able to do, because (with all due respect) that's all Jeff did to make this ROM for you. Given a list of the checkboxes he checked + any additional OEMs added you should be able to make a byte-identical ROM to the one he's releasing here.

Unable to sync desktop files
Hey Jeff,
Love the new ROM. Been testing it out for the last 2 hours and love the changes you've made to it. I am having a problem with Activesync, however. My laptop and desktop arent recognizing my 6700, so I'm not able to sync files. Is there anything missing or changed that would cause this to happen? Thanks for the help with this! Zam |

In something resembling the order asked:
Yes, the customizer works to change the tabs on the Home plugin. No, I can't reasonably make a generic ROM because of outdated cabs in everyone's ExtROM partition. They won't play nice with AKU 3.5. I don't know when or if I'll get time to upload a Verizon version. The solution to the last two issues would be for me to post my version of the kitchen, preconfigured to use C&S as the base onto which you can add your carrier mods or other OEMs. The mods here don't want me to do that, so you're kind of on your own. You can get most of the way to what I did by looking at what I added and removed and doing the same, using the OEMs I uploaded to the FTP. But you'll miss small tweaks here and there to the stock modules. I tinkered with a LOT of stuff in this build. MMS wasn't included since the stock Apache doesn't have it, most Sprint Apaches users don't have the service and it caused issues in the old build. If you really want it, install the CAB. No issues with ActiveSync or WMDC on my test systems. Can you go into more detail? |

Custom City hack for HTC home weather plugin in Kirvin C&
Anyone had any luck with the custom city trick for the htc home weather plugin? I'm having a hell of a time with it. Tried the zip for my city and the other method. the XDA-Developers site seems to imply that if you try to load htcDOTaccuweatherDOTcom from PocketIE and you don't get an error than something isn't setup right. i don't get an error so i'm wondering if the hacked version is even in jeff's rom.
I saw that version 1.0.3 of the kitchen is supposed to contain the hacked version of the weather plugin. can someone confirm that it's in 1.0.4 and/or in jeff's rom? thanks for any info UPDATE: i was able to get it to work using pockethosts. this would leave me to believe that the htc home plugin that's built into the rom is NOT the hacked one mentioned on the XDA-Developers site. |
