So I just cooked a new rom, went on fine but it wont move past the first splash screen. I tried a new rom changed the splash screen image and the new splash pops up but still stops there every time. any ideas?

Re: New rom wont go past first splash

Could be you added too much into the ROM and are now more large in size than the BootLoader itself. What all do you have added and if several things, try adding less and recooking/flashing.

Re: New rom wont go past first splash

Yeah i kinda thought something similar, so the second one i made was a really basic no frills rom. im using BL v 1.00 dunno if that could have anything to do with my problem...

Re: New rom wont go past first splash

Usally bootloader 1.00 doesn't give errors, it has a much larger size than 2.04/05. But, make it a clean ROM. Bloaded ROMs are usally no good...

Re: New rom wont go past first splash

its not giving any errors just wont go past the splash. the last rom i built had almost nothing in it except the basics. the odd thing is that when i built the rom i changed the splash pic and it comes up, version and stuff even pops up at the bottom...thats it though just stays there...

That's what I meant, sorry. Usally bootloader 1.00 doesn't have issues because the ROM size allowance is bigger.

I know you probably did this but I have to ask. Did you "unlock" your phone?

You do not "unlock a 6700". The bootloader is not "locked" to unsigned code like the 6800 on up...

Re: New rom wont go past first splash

Greetings,
1st time nob here. I've just spent about 5 hours running into the same problem. xv 6700 with BL 2.05. I tried to find a 1.0 but then I read that 2.05 were not having problems lately. Anyway I can get the splash screen and thats it. I had only a limited supply from the kitchen. I'm going to try it with nothing just to see if WM 6.1 will show up.
By the way I think you guys are awesome. I'm very impressed with just about every aspect of this site and it's goals.
For the future nobs... I recomend reading and re reading the directions before you post your help. I want to write in for mercy many time over the past 5 hours but I felt I needed to earn it first. I actually got a lot further than I would have guessed just by doing some research.
Anyway.... If there are any ideas out there or if someone knows where I could look further into this I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

Re: New rom wont go past first splash

Wow.
So I gave it one last college try. After all whats the difference between going to bed at 2 or 4 AM right?
So I took just about everything off the kitchen except Word and 2 other things. Running BL 2.05 it finally worked. I've got 6.1. Very cool.
You guys rock!!
