Re: power on

Time for a new machine, (if a hard reset or flash don't fix it). I had one Apache like that, never could get it work properly.

Re: power on

Have you tried to hard reset it or flash with one of the latest ROMs?

You do NOT want to switch to an Instinct. The iPhone even blows the Instinct away...

Re: power on

This just happened to a 3 yr old Apache I have that was dormant for several months without being charged. It would not even complete a hard-reset. The hard-reset prompt would display and then the screen would just go dead after pressing Y to continue.

After a strong battery was inserted it would power on but needed to be hard-reset in order to power up into WM each time.

A fresh ROM reinstalltion solved it. It now works fine consistently even with the old battery. I can't say this will work for you but at this point, it's worth a shot.
