I think I heard in one of the other threads this is phone weaver. Disable that and see if you can make the change. It could be Slide2Unlock if you use that as well.

Again, most 'bugs' people find are with apps not interacting well, and not this (or any) rom.
Actually the only way I can get it to stay at 1 minute is to use phone weaver. Oh well works for me.

Thats weird, I don't even have those options under my sounds and notifications?? I was under the impression that you no longer need to run the extra .cab file that was for SMS and MMS message, am I wrong?

Are the video messages I receive supposed to go to messaging or the threaded SMS program. I am a little confused on this. I am with Sprint and all my pic messages go to the Threaded SMS and are tiny. I can't see them at all?

Thanks for all your help everyone!
I have Verizon..my MMS go to the MMS folder not the threaded messages..however I recall seeing a fix for that reading some of the posts on sprint..sorry I really can't help you out on this issue, but I am sure there's someone who will post a reply on how to get this working for you again..try browsing around cause I am sure I saw this problem quite a few times on the APACHE forum..good luck!
Ok I spoke too soon..Now my MMS are going to threaded SMS, so everytime I get a picture or video it will not show up. I tried changing every setting I could think of. Can anyone help me get this issue resolved, so that threaded messages is not used?

EDIT: Ok, so I reassigned the softkey to something other than SMS and it seems to be working..don't know if that had anything to do with it but now my MMS don't come to the threaded SMS!

Does weatherpanel and IM+ affect battery life + complaint

I love weatherpanel even though I know in some cases it can affect battery life but am pondering if the $29 for IM+ is really worth it.

The key question I wanted to ask you guys if it is realistic to have IM+ on all the time. Clearly, it is an IM program, so it is going to need a steady internet connection. Is this going to drain the battery? Anyone have IM+ (or perhaps even any IM program) on 24/7 on their PPC? Assuming I never get many IMs it would seem like the screen would always stay off? No? Weatherpanel can keep on the unit unless I make the power turn off automatically upon it not being used I think but am not sure.

My only complaint: I wish I were on a "BigJ alert" notification list so I knew the split second that BigJ comes out with another amazing ROM. This time I didn't find out for five whole days after the party started.

EDIT: X-button took a while to get used to but it is better than HandySwitcher. Koodos to takmsdsm and BigJ for being on target (as usual).

Will replacing tpcutil.dll revert back to the old sms application?
Can ANYONE send me a copy of the tpcutil.dll from any other rom that doesn't include threaded sms?

Thanks,
Michael

Even after changing my soft key, picture mail still goes to threaded. (Didn't think that would have anything to do with it, but it was worth a try.)

FYI, I think I saw a bluetooth hacking program that would do this, though it didn't actually blow it up and it wasn't tailored to the Iphone per say. Also, it did require some manual intervention.

HLKM\Comm\Cellular\SMS\Protocol\Text from HTC_SMS_Providers.dll to SMS_Providers.dll fixed it - I was...
see if this helps any of you guys w/ SMS issues and ill update the kitchen to force this change.

The MMS package was made by luv2chill (if you read the notes i pulled mine) but if my own package does not suffer these issues i will revert back in my next build, lemme know!

so far all i really have for building is this
log file growth
comm manager file sizes
pimbackup to v2.5 (up from 2.4)
removing MSVC all togethor cuz its a pile of garbage (still debating)

The G network has to be in compatibility mode - the wifi in the 6700 is B only.

My sms is already SMS_Providers.dll.

PLEASE leave MSVC, as it's one of the best things on windows mobile. In fact, I would love to have it reading my text messages back. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem possible with the threaded sms program. I personally would rather have normal sms, with the ability to have them read, than to have threaded sms. Is it possible to make it "an option"?

Thanks,
Michael
