i was looking on sprint, and saw the specs on the wx, i dont know about it now. it has been out sometime now, maybe ill wait for another ppc. someone needs to compare them neck to neck

wow this got a load of replies. Mal sometimes more is better, but this isn't the case all the time. I see what ur saying but like u said power users who use memory intensive programs. Don't get me wrong I do ue mine a lot for browsing, posting, downloading, ftp use, and a lot of other things. I will be sticking to my 6700 with its bigger kb and screen, until a newer one does hit the market with sprint. Who knows when that will be tho.

I should make it clear I'm not trying to say that the 700wx is leaps and bounds different or better than the 6700 or trying to convince people to jump ship. That's an indivdual decision.

It just does things differently and I think a bit more efficiently, which is what you would expect from a new device with a later build of the OS. It also had a lot of Palm-specific tweaks you'll be hard pressed to find in other WM5 devices.

MobieTechReview recently did a huge write up where they compared benchmarks?

Guess what? The 6700 beat everything hands down.

But here's the rub:

The unit (700wx--ed.) feels fast and responsive, and like the Treo 700w it feels a bit faster than the Sprint PPC-6700 Pocket PC Phone which has a faster processor and benchmarked faster than the Treo. Speaking of benchmarks, the Treo 700 pair lost nearly every Spb Benchmark test, yet they feel more responsive when opening menus, scrolling through windows and running core apps than other Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PCs and PPC phones. Palm must have done a great job caching frequently used core apps and related files (without using much memory? doubly impressive) .

It really just comes down to form factor and what you like. If you like your 6700...then stick with it! Don't worry about all this other stuff.

If you're a fence sitter or have some issues, consider the 700wx, waiting for a "6800" (probably early 2007 sometime) or the "Q".

With everything Mal has mentioned and the video over at TC I am on the fence about switching. With the replacement I got this weekend (post April 1st version) with worse BT issues then the origional. I think I could do without A2DP (never got it to work), a bigger screen (came from a 6600), no EVDO ringthough (with my new device), and WIFI (never use). For a device that has a much better "phone" & phone features, faster & streamlined version of WM5, and better data handling. I am going to have to hear more about the wx and may be replace my 6700 a couple of more times before I pull the trigger.

those are 2 huge features id love to see on the 6700!!! oem not third party!

Personally, I say if you like your phone, that's all that matter. The 6700 is the best phone I've ever had (of course, I've only owned 2 other smartphones) and while it may not do everything exactly the way I would like it to, I can still adjust. My complains so far have been moot, which I cannot say for my other phones (except maybe my first cell, the VI660. If it wasn't for lack of camera, that phone would have been perfect for me at the time).

I've owned a Treo (600) before and it was an okay phone. A hardware dialing pad was very useful (especially when the screen got FUBARed), but other than, I really didn't like the layout of the phone. But then, it was Palm and not PPC, which probably had a lot to do with it.
