I have the same device and I have gotten it to work flawlessly with Google Maps, TomTom software, and several other PPC applicatiosn.
If I remember the steps, you enable BT, using the Icon in Start>Settings>Connections>BT Icon, check the box to turn on BT. Click on the devices folder tab, and add new device. This will search for new devices. Once connected, click on COM ports and create an outgoing port. Doesn't need to be COM 8. Mine for some reason, will not set up on COM 8. I set mine up on Com 0. Once this is done it should be connecting fine. Depending on your application, you may need to set up a GPS Data port. This is also done in the Connections area again. Select a GPS Data port. Mine, I set up on GPD8 on the Programs folder tab. On the Hardware folder tab set it to your COM Port you set up above. Now you will need to troubleshoot your application. What application are you using? I would just make sure you have the application pointing to your above GPS Com port and the GPD data port. Last, most applications will not work with GPS UNTIL you are outside and have a valid GPS signal. This includes general testing. |

Ok I got it working.
Tried it with smart navigator, live seach, pocket streets - all working! I was thinking about the tom tom software - now I needs something that will TELL me via audio directions. How you like tom tom? |

well I got a jacked up version from a friend for testing and it took quite a bit to get running. I used it to drive 800+ files for vacation. It was great to use and find a good route to and from my destinations.
My issue with it was when it wanted me to go one way, and I didnt follow it, it was super obmoxious and kept telling me to make a u turn, for 30 + miles, before it recalculated the proper route. Other then that it worked extremely well, just a pain to set up. |
