Just tried 1.0 NoID

Error 150: ROM UPGRADE UTILITY ERROR
This ROM Upgrade Utility is not designed for your device. Please get the proper ROM Upgrade Utility and try again!

Sidenote: phone country was set to Japan before I attempted to upgrade. I tried to exit bootloader mode but failed. Phone is stuck in bootloader mode v1.0

Are you on Vista? If so then you will need to downgrade Windows Mobile Device Center drivers. If not then you will need to upgrade you bootloader v1.02 with the sticky in the forum called "Stuck in bootloader..."

Re: PDAJ's Clean WM6.1 ROM

Everything seems to have worked right up the end. It keeps hanging on "Running TPEnable.exe".

Update: It's working now - just did a soft reboot and it came right up.

Re: PDAJ's Clean WM6.1 ROM

Few questions about this FANTASTIC Rom. :-) and the PDA.

1) How do you change the first splash screen from the Black Cooked HTC one back to the simple stock white Verizon Wireless one???

2) Any way to add a GPS radio or 3G to these things??.. LOL

3) Anyway to repair a screen?, I sorta dug a rough line into the LCD from frustration with the scroll bar and pocket IE. (thank god for ICS in this 6.1 ROM and WMwifirouter)

Thanks for the nice comment.

1. There is a software around for it. Search around, I don't remember what it's called.

2. GPS is a no go on the 6700. There is no chip in it. You need a bluetooth reciever. EVDO is the same as 3G, so if your provider has that, then you're at 3G speed.

3. Find some old screens or phones on ebay, not hard to replace.

In that case, which is rare, revert bootloader to v2.02 with the sticky at top of fourm. Then download the v2.02 ROM.

Re: PDAJ's Clean WM6.1 ROM

Ok, so now I am in trouble...

I couldn't get this Clean ROM to work, so I cooked one up the the kitchen real quick.

The new ROM loaded on to the Apache fine, but now I am stuck at the initial boot screen.

Now what do I do?

Yes it does. If it didn't I would have made only one ROM. Just use the one built for your version :)

Re: PDAJ's Clean WM6.1 ROM

I had the v2.05 on mine, but kept getting the No Country Errors. Reverted to 2.02, skipped steps 13 and later and went strait to the 6.1 upgrade from here. That worked and loaded the new OS. Hopefully I can play with this for a little bit and then customize it a bit in Build OS.

1. Put phone in bootloader (Power+Record+Stylus in reset hole)
2. Plug in phone to PC, don't use hub or cradle
3. Disable Windows Mobile Device Center USB connections if on Windows Vista (read below if you have issues with Vista)
4. Run excutable in RUU folder
5. After flashing is done unplug and Hard Reset (two soft keys and stylus in reset hole)

You can not connect without USB. Come on, that's like asking how to hook up a moniter without a cable. If you have a PSP or even some Camera cables, those will work. They're called "MiniUSB" cables.

Did you try 1.00 with NoID? If you ever get a country id error then you need to use NoID Ruu.

Re: PDAJ's Clean WM6.1 ROM

I have WinXP.

My xv6700 is v2.02, and downloaded the matching file.

but it froze at 44%. it's been at 44% for the last 10min.

so i rebooted xv6700, and started over again.

it froze again at 44%.

HELP!

Re: PDAJ's Clean WM6.1 ROM

Since wm6.1 install went fubar, i installed Verizon's original WM5.1.

it worked, but for some reason it upgraded my xv6700 to v2.05.

i downlaoded PDAJ's Clean WM6.1 ROM for v2.05.

It gives me Error120 Country ID Error.

Now what?

THX!

Wow, that's a lot of posts in a row Jedi. It worked on XP because of your bad drivers. Please read and follow uides before diving into flashing.

I'm looking too for the version for the bootloader v1.00. and would you recommend me putting WM6 even though it is on beta?, because I use it only as a PDA and not as a phone, would it work on my qwest carrier.

Edited: is the bootloader version for th WM5 or the WM6 installed?
