As I am unaware of your level of ignorance pertaining to this topic, this may be a dumb question....
Is it possible that your USB port or ports are turned off on this particular computer? I know that my company issues computers out with some or all of the USB ports disabled to prevent connecting external harddrives and other malicious hardware. Could this be the case in your situation? |

NO USB seems to be unblocked.
When I connect a USB storage drive it installs drivers. When I connected PPC fro the first time, it installed the drivers.
Also in windows explorer it shows as windows mobile device. In system manager it shwoes windows based mobile device. Its only when I click on SYNC it seems like its pinging my DEVICE. Also I have been succesfull in connecting through IR PORT. I also checked FIREWALL and its does not block the ACTIVE SYNC application either, and I can connect through IR PORT is the proof of it. |

By any chance are you running Black Ice as a firewall? I run this at home and have to stop the Black Ice Service in order to use Active Sync. My active Sync recognizes that I connected my device, though it will just spin and spin... and never actually sync.
Stopping the BlackIce service resolves this. |

In active sync on the PPC go to menu/connections set to usb and try again. Hope this helps
