I got the same error, but I ran the RUU again directly after getting the error. The second time around it worked just fine. Thats an odd error though, regardless its working now.

Just Flashed mine to 1.27 from vista ultimate and it worked fine after following the instructions for flashing from vista
http://www.ppcgeeks.com/viewtopic,t,5273.html

Soft reset and it was fine, even though the instructions on the screen said to hard reset.

Is 1.27 radio ROM for Sprint only?

Right you are. The first few tries rebooted my phone. But eventually it let me upgrade. Sweet.

Thank you for your assistance.

My carrier is Verizon and I just flashed mine with a soft reset as well. I can still make calls and use the data network.

I live on a fringe area and if I set this phone on my desk you can hear the service tone beeping constantly in and out of service. I will post if there is an improvement when i get home. If there is I will be very impressed.

Also is there a way to integrate this with the flash of the regular rom from the new kitchen?. Can you just dump the radio_.nbf into the upgrade folder and it will flash both roms?

I'm not real sure on that one. Try referencing this post as well
http://www.ppcgeeks.com/aku-3-5-4-su...out-t5820.html

That post includes a link to the new Hetals AKU 3.5.4.A with New Core 2.6 which has the radio ROM included. Try checking that out.

Anyone try this with an Alltel 6700 with Alltel service?

Greets,

Well I tried seven ways to sunset to update my verizon radio,

I got several lovely errors

Invalid country ID code (when phone not in bootloader)
This RomUpdate program is not valid for your device (phone in bootloader 30+ minutes into 'getting device info')

and the lovely nearly bricked phone scare (re-using the kitchen corrected)

anyone have a "somewhat" simple procedure to update the verizon radio using windows vista?

Thanks

Greets,

I should have been more specific, that thread (which I used search for) is the thread that I used just to get going with the Radio update.

I was able to update the USB driver without issue. Then I dl'd Hetal's radio upgrade to use, since it has the no ID util RUU. That is when I started having the issues.

After nearly bricking my phone twice I figured it was time to come back and see if anyone had some advice for me.

I think I may fire up my XP laptop next and see if this boils down to some silly vista nonsense.

Thanks.

I know that I'm going to sound dumb but I just want to make sure. I first enter boot loader mode on my xv6700. Then i run APACUpgradeUt_noID.exe and do a soft reset and its finished? I just want to make sure that i don't brick my phone!
