Sprint Radio 1.27

After trying out a number of radio 1.27 updates unsuccessfully, I repackaged the update - it's now in the ftp\apache\apache radio 1.27 working.zip

Hope this helps anyone who is having similar problems!

Best,
MJB

Edit by luv2chill: Sprint devices DO NOT need this update, at least not in this form--which is a risky way to upgrade. If you have a Sprint PPC6700 and don't already have the 1.27 radio file download this package:

http://www.utstarcom.com/pcd/downloa...0_WWE_Ship.exe

Allow it to install completely, including the full extrom (it will also bring your PRI up to the most recent 1.19_003 version and PRL to 20224). Then proceed to reflash whatever OS ROM you want (kitchen, jbabey, colonel, kirvin, etc.).

Most Sprint users will already have radio 1.27 and will not need to do this.

I've seen a lot about v1.27, but I'm not sure how it's better than the previous version?

I just flahsed my Sprint 6700 with the 1.27 Radio update. My reception signal changed from 67% to 81%. Others say little bit better battery but I don't know how to measure it! Any way, I put the phone in the ROM update mode, flash it, and SOFT RESET (not hard reset). Work for me. Thanks

Not sure about the EVDO but in India 10 to 15 groups of users of RImWeb.in have flashed it with 1.27 and Battery have been Improved 6 to 8 % and the Reception is also good in 1x.

This is no Risk Upgrade you are not at loss any time.

Make a try for better Reception.

Will this erase your phone, or will all data still be there afterward (I know, before doing any backup info because blah blah blah), but has anyone had their data erased by this? (not that it's difficult to recover, just a pain the butt)

I'm confused...I just read that 1.27 radio ROMs were for Sprint devices only, and this thread seems to indicate it's something new.

Does 1.27 apply for Verizon 6700s?
