Verizon Wireless Sync software

Hey guys,

I bought a slightly used XV6700 over the weekend, came with everything but the software to sync to computer. Any body have any idea where i can download the Verizon wireless software??? I looked at verizon wireless site, but the search only gave me the ones for wireless syncing. Also, I tried to update my phone, I believe its version 1.05.00 wwe, but when i try to download the updated firmaware from UTSTARCOM i can't access the file. Gives me [Server Error in '/pcd' Application.] Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!! Can't wait to custom this badboy, lol...
thanks,
raphael

The software to sync to a PC would be Microsoft's ActiveSync for XP or Windows Mobile Device Center for Vista. These can both be found at Microsoft's Windows Mobile website. Just Google "Windows Mobile".

Ok, now that I can post URLs, here is Microsoft's Windows Mobile site, http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/default.mspx

And you can find Verizon's official ROM update at http://support.vzw.com/phones/index.html?p=2200
It's the link at the bottom right hand side "XV6700 Windows Mobile® 5.0 Software Update"

Or you can download one of the many fine custom ROM's on PPCGeeks.com! Represent, lol

Here is the instructions for th official ROM update http://www.utstar.com/pcd/downloads/...0Procedure.doc

However, this will work for the others too. Just search the forums, there is a vast amount of knowledge waiting for you. Also, always make sure you search before posting a question. Most of the time, your questions have already been answered.

"Verizon Wireless Sync" is a separate program from MS's Activesync. I never found much use for Verizon, but that may be because I don't have Outlook to sync with. To get the "Verizon Wireless Sync" software you can either install on of the ROMs from here that include Verzion customizations, or use the official Verizon ROM.

I belive Gom33 was just confused, and was thinking you used Verizon Wireless Sync to connect to your computer. Pointed him Microsoft ActiveSync as mentioned above

Over the Air Wireless Sync Download

For future reference, Wireless Sync software can be downloaded over the air directly to your device by going to ota.wsync.com and selecting the correct device.
