Dial #777

Hey everyone, I'm kind of new to this. But I just got a 6700 for Alltel. I flashed it with one of the WM6 roms on this site. And now when I open internet explorer it tries to connect by doing the dialed: #777 thing. But after about 30 seconds another pop up comes up and says "Your username and password is wrong..." What username and password should I be using. I searched around the forum but could not find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Dial #777

I had to change mine back to "Sprint" for the network and my user name is my sprint email and password is a 6 character alpha numeric hex conversion of my account pin. The last field is blank. Using mighty rom 4.9.1 the default network was set to "data" but #777 is ok. Sprint specific data stuff like tv would not work untill i changed this. Hope this helps you get it set right for your carrier.

Wouldnt this be a good time to call your carrier and get that info from them? I mean Im sure someone here can answer but you posted this yesterday in the AM when if you called your carrier it likely could have been resolved within 30mins or so.

Well I searched a little more and found the information on this site without calling Alltel. I work at an Alltel authorized agent, so I know sometimes tech support isn't always the most pleasant ordeal to go through and I didn't feel like going through all the automated systems. So I figured I could find it on here. Even after I found that info though, it still wasn't connecting. It was saying it couldn't connect "for an unknown reason." Turned out there was a setting with the MDN in the ESPT settings that was incorrect. The MDN was still set as the old owner of the phones MDN rather than mine. But once I switched it, it connected right away. But yeah, I appreciate all ya'lls help anyway.

Lol, well honestly I've always been a Blackberry man myself but my Curve got stolen a few weeks back and we had this neat looking 6700 that had been sitting in the back forever. So I tried it out and I love it. It's just with the BB never had a Dial#777 message so I was kinda confused. But after I did my research I realized I sounded kind of dumb asking the question I asked lol. But yeah trust on this one Alltel Tech support has been nothing but a hassle for me and my co workers the last couple of months with the merger and all. Hopefully Verizon will fix all that. lol idk
