SMS sender not shown Apache for cricket

I recently purchased an Apache ppc-6700 "preflashed for cricket" aftet having to return the first for being doa, and running into software/battery issues on my replacement im really starting to regret this venture. When i recieve a text message the sender is not shown, occasionally i get the last two or three digits of their number imbedded in the subject line but thats it, I have been searching around and only found one mention of my issue, lacking a how to, the issue seems to be caused during the installation of wm6, I am really new at this and was wondering if someone could help me sove this, preferably just by a reg change or a patch, but im not at all opposed to reloading the os

Hard reset and then hit the reset hole before the customization message.

Re: SMS sender not shown Apache for cricket

I sent thanks for the amazing fast reply, sadly it did not fix my issue, is there something else I could try, going to a stable build of wm5 perhaps?

Re: SMS sender not shown Apache for cricket

Are you WM6? If so, update to 6.1 using the ktichen. I don't understand why people try and use the old buggy WM6, it needs to go the way of my garbage can. You can try the Kirvin WM5 3.5 Generic if your bootloader is 2.02 or 1.00 or 1.02

Re: SMS sender not shown Apache for cricket

Are you sure you hit the reset button (bottom left hole on phone, hit with the stylud) after you hard reset and it said "OEM customization will start in three seconds"? Most people don't quite understand that when we tell them that here. It a bug with that old WM6. If you don't wanna flash then try again following my above steps. I would sugest reading a lot before building your ROM in the kitchen. Anyways have fun and if you need anything else feel free to PM me.

Re: SMS sender not shown Apache for cricket

My edit from earlier did not go through so I am making a new reply, after performing the hard then soft reset my text message issue is fixed (thanks again) however I can no longer connect to my wifi, my phone finds my router but when i click connect it tries to for about 30 seconds then stops as if nothing happened (no error messages, and connect is able to be clicked again) I looked around and found alot of links to kitchens with "wifi fixes" not sure if those would be fixes to my issue, but after messing with the kitchen apps I find that I would much rather find a .cab file, I am still a little new at this so the easier the better, anyone have any insight?

Strange. The search feature should have returned some results, here is a cab WiFi fix. Download here.

Re: SMS sender not shown Apache for cricket

after installing the phone prompted me to reset by clicking ok, upon it resetting the wifi still will not connect, but if you soft reset once more it should work fine (just in case anyone else tries this), thanks again for your help man its greatly appreciated.
