Radio problem and Vista question

Here's my issues. When my verizon xv6700 boots up it has Radio = 0 and when starts up has no phone functions.

My other issue is I've done an update to Vista Ultimate and curious if that's going to cause me a lot of problems?

I cant answer the radio question, but vista works great with the phone. I find the new Mobile Device Center intuitive and easy to use. You will not be able to flash a new rom with Vista though.

Untrue, I use Windows Vista (Home Premium) and I can flash new roms all I want. There are a few tricks to the whole thing. First to flash the rom the phone must be in bootloader mode (hold down the tape recorder button and power button while resetting the phone) in order to flash the ROM. Also, once you've flashed the rom over, WM device center will NOT work with your phone for syncing emails and such (or at least I haven't gotten it to work yet)

How do you make it flash the rom? I put the device into bootloader mode, but it always fails at finding the device. Ive tried for a couple months now, and still have the same results as everyone else on the board.

That's all I do.. Put the phone into boot loader mode and it all just.. works. Sorry I can't be of more help..

-------------------------------------------------

Since this post I have put my phone to bed until I go to work with rom flashing tools on my USB stick.

I did flash Helmi_C's latest to my phone from my Vista computer. I tried to flash on Big_J's and no dice. I am recooking Helmi's rom and attempting to re-flash.

Got It

Here's what I did: Went into WMDC and unchecked "Allow USB Connections" in Connection settings (when device was not plugged in).
Ran TaskMGR
Closed WMDC (and noticed it was eating 23megs of ram!)
Flashed rom.

No fancy driver upgrading, just turn down the microsuck.
