Bricked Phone

Ok, so I broke my ppc...i'm stuck at the bootloader, but for some reason I can't manage to get out of it, because every single computer I plug the ppc into gives me this weird usb device not recognized error, & the ppc never changes over to 'USB' from serial Is there something I need to install to make this work? Is there some way to connect to the ppc via serial?

Try removing the battery for a few mins, then put it back in. then press the Power button + recorder button, while using the stylus to reset it. Should but u into bootloader mode. Plug in the usb cable and try flashing again.

Keep trying. Try the two procedures for getting out of bootloader and stick with it. If you are still stuck tomorrow, come to the chat room and someone will be able to help.

My solution for fixing this was to flash the rom to the latest Sprint release from the website and it worked great. This might work with your providers newest release too?

EDIT: My carrier is Sprint.

Kevdawg, when you flash to the stock sprint rom does your prl stay with the latest or does it revert back to 20224?
What do you mean by prl?

That is very good to know! Thanks for explaining that. I am having hardware issues with my phone so I will be putting the old rom on there again before i take it back. I will let you know what it does to the PRL.

PS How do you update the PRL?

Wow, sucks that Sprint actually makes you talk to someone to update your PRL. With Verizon I can just dial *22899 and I'm done.

yeah that would be nice if sprint had that. I am sure they must have something like that.

How often is it really necessary though? i can't imagine they put up too many towers that often.
