Apache on US Cellular

I am an Apache owner and was wondering if anyone had any information on how to use this phone on the US Cellular Network. I visited a few websites offering this phone as a package deal with a new contract with USC but am unsure if it was ever sold officially directly from the carrier. In any case, if anyone could shed some light on the possibilities, please let me know. I've canceled my VZW plan and would hate to shell out more money for a new phone on another CDMA carrier.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Apache on US Cellular

As far as I know, you can activate a 6700 on any CDMA network, the only issue is if that carrier will allow the ESN on their network, then if they do, programming the correct info into it. Best bet, call the carrier and ask if they will allow/activate that phone's ESN.

Re: Apache on US Cellular

Thanks. I actually found that out myself a few hours ago searching around on google. I hope it does work. I'm going into the USC store tomorrow and just tell them my phone is a USC phone and ask for activation. Hopefully that will spare my new contract rebate so I can apply it to something better in the future. Thanks for replying!

Re: Apache on US Cellular

I think (sprint anyways) will take back their rebate if you activate any phone, new or not, using the rebate or not, I lost mine when I activated my apache, after 2 years, POOF, no more rebate for me. So sad. If you plan to hide where you phone came from, I would call, not go into the store if your 6700 is a verizon model, it's quite obvious.

Re: Apache on US Cellular

It's a UTStarcom branded phone. I just realized that it may in fact not be from Verizon and that they accept any cdma phone now which is why I didn't have problems getting it activated. I purchased it on ebay in the fall. I do have another question however. Would anyone know if there are settings specific to US Cellular pocketpc phones or any ext rom files I would need to add to it? I am flashing the phone back to WM 5.0 for ease of activation (Even though I will try over telephone first). By settings I mean some data I would need to input in the unlock menu to reflect the USC network.

Thanks again. EDIT: I looked up the EPST settings for the Mogul since I couldn't find any for the Apache specifically. I am going to see if I can flash it with the Mogul kitchens after I check for activation by phone.
