interesting issue with my xv6700

Recently got the phone (xv6700), and have noticed that almost every time i go to make a call it will say dialing, and have waited as long as 3 to 4 minuts for it to actully to say conneted, it dont do this every time, but 0ver 50% of the calls do this, even after i do a soft or a hard reset it does this. It gets irritating after a while, if it keeps it up might have to go back to my Q. But other then that, no probloms what so ever with the phone, everything works like its supposed to. Any ideas to what would cause this? Any info would be great and i would be highly thankfull.
Thanks
Rob

How good is the signal in your area? I notice this sometimes when I am on a fringe area that the signal isn't very good.

Hmm, shouldn't do that with a really good signal. Using the bars as a guide generally isn't good though as they are not very accurate (or so I read).

Have you added anything to the phone? Changed the ROM or anything like that?

What department do you work or volunteer for? I'm a career fire fighter in Virginia. Small world sometimes.

Carrer firefighter, Lt. at Bryant, Town just out side of Little Rock Arkansas. Been full time 8 years now. We have a site for out dept if your interested in looking. Bryantfirerescue net.
But back to the phone, havent installed anything on it yet and it did this, i updated it to the ApacheAKU3.3 hoping that would solve the issue and still no luck. I also noticed that it switches from evdo to 1x when a call connects, tried a mod that keeps the data on 1x and still didnt help it any. Guess i might have to deal with it till the xv6800 hits verizon, cant do a treo, and like my Q but no touch screen. But thanks for the quick replies so far.

It sounds like it might be a problem with the phone then. I don't recall any major threads with problems like this.

Have you updated the radio ROM at all? That might help. I saw a new floating around in the forums here that another Verizon user said that it works on ther phone. Version 1.27 or so. I can't think of anything else to try.

I'm hoping the 6800 will come out in July like it is rumored to.

Thanks for the link to your site. I will check it out.

DONT UPDATE the radio! This is for the Sprint PC and may screw up your VZW Device.

In the keypad dial the # "*22899" This will reprogram your phone from VZW as well as update your roaming capabilities.
If this for any reason does not work, then feel free to udpate the radio at your own risk!

I have a PPC6700 from Sprint and I have noticed mine dong the same thing some times. I think that is due to the poor signal thing with mine. It also has an issue (not to often) of not wanting to answer the calls.

The radio ROM I spoke of has been tried on Verizon phones with no problems found so I'm not sure why you are saying this. Have you tried it and had problems?

Here is the thread I am talking about: http://www.ppcgeeks.com/aku-3-5-4-su...out-t5820.html
