Active Sync Opening by itself.

The active sync program opens by itself randomly i was wondering if it happens to you guys?!! or if there is a way to stop it!! it doesnt actually open but it runs in the background.. when i check the running programs its always there even if im not connected to my comp. maybe there is a setting i need to change?! if you guys know please help me out!! thanks!!

I wrote a post on this awhile back at SU on this issue that you can read here

Now, technically this may not work with the AKU 2.1 rom update but it is worth a shot.

Also, make sure under the scheduler you don't have anything set to sync (or under your email, no auto-sync).

nope it didnt work!! it continues to open by itself. any other option?! does it happen to your phone?!

same here, i close that thing all the time, i am not bothered by it since i have magicbutton :P

weird. it never happens to me.

not sure what I have setup that's different...

Edit: I think I remember now! Disable your Auto-Sync time under

Settings--> Phone --> Services Tab --> Time Synchronization

I'm 95% sure you all have that enabled. Turn it off, it's dumb, causes AS to run, is not needed and can cause lock-ups.!

My Time Sync is off and ActiveSync still constantly opens on its own.

Going to try the other trick that was posted.

Malatesta, do you use real push email with an exchange server? I'm wondering if it turns on to sync the email/contacts/etc

Mine was also set to off but it comes on few times a day. I had to turn it off everytime I see it. Wonder if it will drains the battery when it comes on.
