Question My phone is dying- ***HELP****

I had used buildOS previously to get windows mobile 6.1 on my pocket pc 6700. It was working great except I think I forgot to download the driver for my camera and microphone. I tried to flash the rom again adding some programs and everything seemed to go great until the screen went black on my phone and a message popped up saying that the system was having problems connecting to the phone. I hard reset the phone and tried again, however this time no operating system came up on my phone. I tried to flash again and again, each time with the same message. The screen on the phone is off, but I can read very lightly in the background that is says USB at the top and v1.00 at the bottom. **** I don't know where to go from here. Please help me figure out what to do from here. Thanks, Steve

I should add that what I think is flashing is simply pushing play on the buildOS screen. If I'm not flashing correctly, let me know.

Re: My phone is dying- ***HELP****

if you are using vista try unchecking allow usb connections in mobile device center if you havent done so already. if that doesn't apply to you then I suggest searching for a prebuilt Rom. Helmi has one in this site somewhere and try installing that. if it works then it is something with Build OS and you might need to reinstall it and try again. I assume you are doing the hard reset the right way.

Re: My phone is dying- ***HELP****

I am running Vista and I am doing the hard reset. I just did what you said (unselecting the usb in the device center)and am beginning to re-attempt. I really appreciate the help. Good Karma is coming your way. Thanks again

Re: My phone is dying- ***HELP****

You will not want to use a pre built ROM. They are old, buggy, and are not supported as much. BuildOS is your best bet.

I made a thread last week on how to properly use Vista, since so many people have seemed to have issues with it.

Here it is, follow it all and your good to go

Re: My phone is dying- ***HELP****

I don't like the prebuilt ROMs either I was just suggesting he do that and see if it works that way he can eliminate some of the issues. and maybe you can try with the usb option selected because I use vista and I never had to deselect it and it worked every time with no problems
