Screen Alignment problem

My wife's PPC-6700 has developed a new quirk. The screen constantly loses its alignment. At least once per day, screen taps will be off by far enough to be seriously annoying, and to make use of the side scroll bar. She re-aligns the screen, and it s fine for a few hours, then off again.

Just in case, we have cleaned the screen thoroughly, and stopped using screen protectors. It still does it.

Any ideas? Is the screen dying?

Thanks,

Mike

Sounds like a hardware issue. Hate to say it, but you might have ot take it in.

I also had this issue a couple of ROMs ago... don't remember which... and it was fixed with a reflash.
Others have had it too, and as Colonel says, it was sometimes a hardware issue.
Try flashing a new/different ROM and see if that helps.

Screen Alignment problem

I've experinced persistent problems with screen alignment. A couple examples...

1) I carry my phone in my pants pocket. Often times the phone will turn on (either due to Activesync or button press). Before I wasn't using Onlock or DeviceLock, and the rubbing of my ... errr ... leg on the screen would screw things up. After using Onlock, the problems significantly lessened.

2) Last night I cooked another rom with the new kitchen. For some reason, the screen alignment was jacked up no matter how many times I aligned it. I assumed I'd need to cook another rom and start over, but it was too late and I went to bed. This morning, everything seems to be fine. Can not explain it.

Happens to me and I have found 2 ways to fix it (since I believe it is a hardware problem as well, I am holding on in hopes of beating a sprint emplyoee to giving me a 6800 for it, but that's another story...)

1. Tap in different places on the screen in rapid succession. I usually open a new word doc to do this so I'm not launching applications or performing other actions.

2. Run through the screen alignment (Start > Settings > System > Screen > Align Screen).
