sprint ppc-6700 TEP screen cracked

Hi there all, i'm in a quandry.
Had my Sprint ppc-6700 for a while, and paid the Total Equipment Protection for about 9 months now. All of a sudden, the top 1/5th of the screen is cracked, can't figure out how i cracked it, but i can use most of the screen digitizer allright, except above the crack, which is about only 1/2 inch in size. Now, with rumors that ppc-6800 coming out in late july, what is the chance that sprint would give a 6700 as replacement instead of the new one, specially since sprint is still selling the 6700 on their web site for an outrageous amount?

Given that I have paid about $80 in TEP, and they require a $50 deductible to fix this, IF they fix it, i'd out 130.

what should i do? should i go ahead and request repair now, or wait till the release of 6800 to request the repair?

any info or suggestion would be appreciated.

technically, you don't even have to pay for the repair. A screen crack is covered under ESRP which if you have TEP that means you don't have to pay deductible unless your phone is water damaged or neglected (run over by a truck, something extreme like that). You should be able to walk into any service center and get a replacement at no cost.

Now WHAT they will give you? I dunno.

I've ordered replacement 6700s for people and gotten them. But all I hear coming outta corporate stores/service centers is treo 700wx's......
