Re: XV6700 Warranty
I would use your current Assurion plan. Activate the phone as equitment online. If anything goes wrong you have insurance still, it stays on your line. Verizon probably won't replace it very easyily but insurance is flawlus. Plus in a few months from now when they don't have any 6700 refurbs you will get a newer model

Re: XV6700 Warranty
So it doesn't sound like the insurance is tied to the phone model then? That would be sweet if that was the case. I don't plan on playing the system or anything but hey even though the phone is supposed to be in excellent shape it is still a used phone. I wonder how long the xv6700 will be available for replacement though cause I dont like the look of the 6800.

Re: XV6700 Warranty
I would file through Asurion also because you would stand a good change of getting a newer model (I.E. 6800). However, depending on how Square trade works, if they would send you the money to replace it AND you had Asurion, then you likely could get the money from the phone from Square Trade AND file with Asurion. I KNOW SOMEONE will frown on this but Im just laying out options. I not sticking a gun (or a phone) to anyones head.

Re: XV6700 Warranty
Lol ya that could be a good idea but I'm not the kind of person to do that. When you guys refer to Asurion I take it that is the name of the company Verizon uses?

Re: XV6700 Warranty
Allright sorry guys I was able to find the info on Verizon's website that they do in fact use Asurion. I also checked to see what insurance I currently have which is the $4.99 wireless protection package. For a dollar more I could get the Total insurance package, but their website does not really explain the advantage of one over the other.

Also the only difference that Verizon lists between the two insurance plans is that the Total plan offers an extended warranty. but if the WPP ($4.99) plan covers damage, theft, etc... then why would you need the extended warranty? There must be something I am missing. |

Re: XV6700 Warranty
Right. Once your 15 days is up you can't change the plan. You don't need it though because you are going to a different model phone.

Re: XV6700 Warranty
So at that time when I activate the new model phone ONLINE, do I have the opportunity to upgrade to the $5.99 plan???? Is it even worth it. Thanks.
