BuildOS working, ROM not uploading but w/o error...??

I been able to cook my own ROM using BuildOS and everything looks fine.

Device: Apache
Rev: 1.00
RUU: NoID
Carrier: Telus

After the build completes (a few minutes) i put the device into bootloader mode and connect the USB at which point the screen changes from serial to USB. GREAT.

On my desktop the Apache ROM update utility is running, i hit NEXT. On the screen that says "Your device is about to be updated from...." all fields are blank. "To..." again all fields are blank. I hit UPGRADE hoping for the best and only a few seconds later it says it's done.

I hard reset, poke Y and hello WM5... just where i left it.

Any ideas why the ROM isn't uploading?

Thanks!

Re: BuildOS working, ROM not uploading but w/o error...??

Do i have to unlock the Apache before it'll take a new ROM? I've searched and there's a note about unlocking a Titan...

Quote:
Bottloader Mode (APACHE) - power+cassette/notes+reset - the power button is on/off button on the top of your phone. The cassette/notes button is the top button on the left side of your phone - it has a picture of a cassette tape on it, if it hasn't been worn off. Hold all three buttons in for about a 1/2 second, and the screen will go dark and stay dark. If you look closely, preferably in a well lit environment, you'll see some Serial or USB in the middle of the screen. Below that is a version number. You are in bootloader mode, and the version number is your bootloader version. YOU MUST KNOW YOUR BOOTLOADER VERSION BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO FLASH OR BUILD A ROM.

Bootloader Mode (TITAN et al) - power+camera+reset - the power button is on/off button on the top of your phone. The camera button is the bottom button on the right side of your phone - it has a picture of a camera on it, if it hasn't been worn off. Hold all three buttons in for about a 1/2 second, and the screen will go to a tri-colored screen. You are in bootloader mode. You must unlock your phone to load custom ROMs (it is necessary to unlock your phone only once during the life of your phone).

Follow up....

To access the screen/menu to unlock Apache.... dial ##778.

This brings you to a veiw/edit menu, after that looks like each phone has a unique code?

No, no need to unlock an Apache to flash. Are you using XP/AS4.5 or Vista/WMDC? I think something is wrong with your RUU settings. What other choices are there? Sorry, I haven't used the newer kitchens...

Yeah, I thought that RUU setting noID was right for bootloader 1.00 so was kinda stumped. Glad it was the AS. Definitely a communication problem.
