If the phone is only 2 months old you should go to a sprint store. You should be able to get a free replacement, assuming its a manufacturers defect, i.e. you didnt drop it, or break it yourself.
The downside, recent posts seem to indicate that the stores dotn have any more 6700s and have been offering Treo 700s instead. |

I just got a brand new 6700 about a week ago, so they are out there. I would call ahead and see if they have any in stock. They did try to get me to take a Treo first, but I told them it was not a comparable phone (no matter what the store policy says) and that I would wait for a 6700 or 6800. They had a 6700 in the next week for me.
Mike PS My GUESS is that they were holding a few 6700s "in reserve" for the roll-out of the 6800, so when everyone with a broken 6700 came in, they would have 6700s to give them instead of taking a hit on giving out a new 6800. When they 6800 got delayed, they had to release some of the reserve 6700s as a stopgap. I say this because I was told, about May 1st, that the 6700 was unavailable and there would be no more ever, and when I went in after May 17th, they magically had them in stock, for replacement only. The one I got was brand spankin new. That, however, is just a guess, and is worth exactly what you paid for it. ![]() |

I've got a new one coming today from Asurion.
Dropped my phone and the camera stopped working (Failed to initialize camera error). Called up Asurion and they've sent a brand-spanking-new phone. Now if I could just get UPS to actually knock loud enough on the door so I can go answer it and pick up the phone. |

Dont think the camera error was due to the dropping of the phone.
Mines done that here and there and a soft reset or 2 as well as a memory cleaning seams to bring it back lol. (think it has something to do with my 3.5 rom) |

i've thought about taking my current 6700 back to my local sprint store since the ear piece is fubar, but i don't want to deal with them having to order yet another one for me (would be the third they had to).

I (since I work in a 3rd party service center I do it myself) have ordered myself SEVERAL replacements for my 6700 since I first got it. And I make sure every time it is well documented on my account what the problem is. Everytime I have an issue thats not quite worthy of replacement, but is still rather inconveinent I call in to have it noted on my account and what I had to go through to resolve it.
I plan to try to make Sprint give me a 6800 when it comes out..... *crosses fingers* |
