phone alarm problems

ok.so if i get a text message and i dont check it right away.. like if my phones in the car or somthing.. then when i finnally do get the chance to check it the whole screen is locked up and i have to do soft reset. same thing occurs if i recieve a message while im writing one. kinda gets anoying
