Saving Sms messages to SD Card

Is there a way to change the default,to have the SMS and MMS mesages stored directly to the SD card? i have found a setting to allow me to save to a storage card but It is using the extended rom instead.

You cannot save SMS as .txt or .doc files to the card but you can back them up to the card using an app like PIMBackup.

I am looking to reroute the storage of the messages to the sd card,like change the registry files to reroute it

I know they wont be readable just wanted extra storage.

You can use sktools to change the default location where messaging bodies (email/sms) are stored. Also try Advanced Configuration tool 3.3.
