Is PPC-6700 considered Windows Mobile PocketPC or SmartPhone

Pocket PC newbie...several software apps I've seen make this distinction in different versions. What is the 6700 considered?

So there are two distinctions to be made:

The 6700 is considered a WM5 device or PocketPC Phone Edition.

There is a WM5 SmartPhone edition, which is like a PocketPC Phone Edition Lite--namely it doesn't have a touchscreen (or support for one), different menus and can't run nearly as much software.

The 6700 can run all WM5 software, most 2003/2002 software (though without the softkey support) and even most SmartPhone edition software (though the touchscreen won't do anything and the software may behave differently).

On the other hand, the Smartphone edition cannot run most WM5 PPC edition software.

The Motorola Q is a smartphone edition.

The Treo 700w and 6700 are WM5 PPC Phone Edition.

Eventually, with "Photon" due in 2008 from Microsoft, both product lines will be combined into one platform that can then be customized by the device manufacturer.
