It is sometimes caused by
(1) having time sync enabled in the phone services list (2) using direct push and of course (3) sun spots But usually its the first two. There really is no way to keep it from starting if it gets a mind to start. |

ha!
yea ive got time sync disabled and i havent used direct push.. but if that means checking email then i guess thats it.. but other than that.. its annoying to find out its sucked my battery down because its been running in the background doing something |

Right that says turn off time sync and set up a fake sync account to disable sync.
I have done all that, and even then, still, sometimes ActiveSync just decides it wants to go. I try not to worry about it ![]() |

I have not been able to use the "Fake" account to stop active sync in the new ROM. It does not let me set a manual connect. It did in the 3.3.

My 6600 did this, and the 6700 does this too. I figured there's not much to be done except close it manually. It pops up only ocassionally now and then.
Another Microsoft faux pas!
