I'm not colonel, I'm one of his slaves... you can use the ext rom unlocker canbe found on the ftp, at ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks.com/Apache/Kitchen%20OEMs/J_%20(JBabey%20OEM)/J_Rom_Unlock/APA_ext_rom_unlock.exe

save that in your windows folder on yer phone, and run it. next, I'd copy the contents off to somewhere, SD card if you have one, if not, copy them off to your pc via activesync... now that your rom is unlocked, you can delete whats on it and use it as 10mb of storage. I have morphgear and some sega games on mine

Copy and paste the entire line above into your browser's address bar. That should get you there.

http://ppcgeeks.com/bigjs-revision-9...start,180.html

go to the 4th post up from the bottom.

there you will see not only the ext.rom unlock tool, but a CAB file that will make registry changes that will MOUNT the ext.rom once its unlocked.

After unlocking, dont forget to SOFT-RESET before messing with anything in there, for some reason the unlock wont take without one.

download the files
put them on your storage card
run the apa_ext_rom_unlock.exe
it will say SUCCESS!
hit ok
push the button on the bottom of your phone to soft-reset
run the cab file to mount the ext.rom (may not be needed if you already see it obviously)
NOW manipulate the files in there.
soft-reset after modifying it to ensure that it took.

enjoy the 10 megs

Thanks, I have had the EXT rom already unlocked. And after the 4 soft reset watching the items come back this is what I did.

I deleted the items once more, THEN flashed 1.6u Rom and the ROM2 is completely empty sure those 10 megs device memory will be great.

Without installing files, I have 33.54 device memory available. Last 1.4b ROM with my EXT2 Rom full, I had much less than that available. like 25-27mb so this is really nice.

Anyone know if the extrom2 functions like a sd card and powers down? or is it always active? like a separate portion of the ROM used as a locked "simulated card" ?

anyone install today plugins to the extrom2?
