usb stopped working

I recently updated my firmware to colonel's 3.5 sprint final on my ppc6700. everything ran great for a few days but all of sudden the usb stopped working. it does not charge nor does it activate active sync when its connected to the computer. I've tried with different usb wire and different chargers, soft reset, hard reset, restarted my computer... almost everything. and still the same result. maybe my usb just broke and have nothing to do with the hacked aku firmware since I had the phone for a year... I plan on going to the sprint store to exchange it for another one today but I want to reset the phone to original firmware before doing so. but the usb problem is preventing me to do that. anybody have any ideas?

Yeah, that sounds like a hardware issue and should not be related to the rom on the phone. Does it connect in Bootloader mode?

Hmmm. Does the USB port feel loose or have any obstructions? I am also looking to see if there is a way to flash from the SD.

the usb port does not have any obstruction nor its loose. from looking at it, it looks perfectly fine. no chips, no missing piece.

Ok this is weird. since I can't charge the battery thats on the phone. I have to pull it out and place it on the cradle to charge it. I pulled the battery out and replace it with another battery and now the phone does not boot up at all... looks like its a brick.

Do you get anything on the screen with the new battery? Are you sure the new battery is charged?

Dunno, try the old battery again. At this point all you can do is play with it and keep trying stuff. Sounds like you are gonna have to take it in to a store. I thought there might be a way to upgrade the rom from the SD card, but I am not finding anything. With it not powering on at all, at least they will not see the custom rom on it.

my inital idea was to upload the original rom to my email address and then access my email address to download the rom. extract it to a folder > move it to the extended rom folder > change the config.txt file then hard reset.

I've tried the old battery and the new one both does nothing to the phone. I guess I'll take it to the store and have them fix it and reinstall your rom again to see if it does the samething.
