Can't you just soft-reset or is prompting for a password even on boot up? The other thing is to make sure you Active Sync the device (should be able to do that without unlocking the screen). Then you can browse the phone to pull off any information you need. Another option is I believe there is a registry entry for the phone lock to be enabled/disabled. So, there is a remote registry editor that runs on your PC (unfortunetely I can't think of the name) and you could possibly disable the lock program that way. I'm not 100% sure about what I told you, but Active Sync is your best bet, at least before a hard reset.
Good Luck!

Assuming you're talking about the "Lock" application or the "Password" application and not the device lock on the today screen (otherwise you wouldn't be talking about a password), you can't access the phone via activesync with a password lock on.
Unless you get that password, it's hard reset time. If I were you I would try every possible combination of numbers near what he says it is (likewise if it's an ascii password but you're even more screwed). Maybe he fat-fingered it or fat-stylus'ed it. (That's just an expression, doesn't mean anyone is fat in this day and age of apologizing for the crap we say that might, heaven forbid, express an opinion or humor). Good luck. My guess is he mis-typed or had caps lock on or something. |
