Spontaneous Dialing Problem

Hi folks - I am running one of the generic 3.5 roms posted here and have run into a very strange situation. While using the device, usually while reading a book in uBook, my phone spontaneously tries to dial the last number dialed or received. It will do it repeatedly, even after a soft reset. The phone app even tries to dial when I actually turn the radio off on the phone. It does not try to dial when the phone is turned off.

Has anybody ever ran into this? It's really bugging me!

This sounds like a hardware failure to me. Maybe the green phone button is intermittantly pressing itself?

I know you said that it doesn't do it when the phone is off, but just out of curiosity - what kind of case do you use?

I typically just use the leather hip wallet that comes with the 6700. I was thinking hardware failure as well but the wierd thing is that the only button I am typically using when reading is the center up/down/right/left switch. I have taken note that it has never been associated wtih pressing the talk/phone button. I could probably try to remap those buttons using a reg hack and see.

I fear that it is hardware failure, though.

Thanks!
