Thank you; Your latest test nk.nbf

Colonel-

Thanks for all your hard work in getting the latest BM update adapted to the kitchen. I have been testing your latest test nk.nbf (2007-07-12). It is working great, though I have a couple of quick comments:

1. Some of the programs (clear temp, dict editor, wm5torage) need to be updated to their latest and greatest. I was able to easily find the version numbers of the ones above, but others may need updating as well.

2. The machine locked up when I tried to close a set of the programs that were open. They were in the middle of the program set (I did not narrow down issue further, as I am lacking time and it required a soft reset).

3. Consider replacing the intent java midlet with the esmetech java midlet (saves memory; available from the mogul).

4. Why have both zip and rar? rar is better program, from my experience.

5. Why is the PalmSMS program not on the ROM?

Enough for now. I am off to test things more.

Thanks again.

I can use voice command from my headset, but I'm not a big fan of VC. I prefer Cyberon. Cyberon won't work from my headset at all. It did with your 3.3 ROM. I tried removing VC but still no joy.

When I try to install a newer version of Cyberon I keep getting a "Installation was unsuccessful" error telling me I don't have sufficient system permissions.

Any suggestions what I could do in order to get it to load ?

Thanks,
Mike

Col

How can I remove the cyberon version you added to your ROM (3.5) ? I'm wondering if I remove that, if it will then allow me to install the newer version.

Thanks,
Mike

Cant really remove something built into the rom. I do have newer nk.nbf files on the ftp and I think they dont have Cyberon in them at all. So, you could add your own. Also, I will probably have a rom out at some point with the newer Cyberon in it.
