No specific errors. It just kept on showing those spinning arrows and never actually found anything or showed any maps. [It actually did have an error message the first time I tried it, but it just said to quit and restart. I did that with no better results and the same spinning stuff.]

PIE worked fine before and in 3.5.7 & 8. I kind of liked that it had PPCGeeks mobile page as the home/startup page. I left it that way. And it's working fine now. It just got stuck on "locating..." and wouldn't show anyting until I went into Favorites and opened up any page.

I have, twice actually. I also get an error from activesync:

There is not enough free memory on your device to synchronize information. Close programs that are runningto free up memory, or restart the device.

I tried to sync after a sof reset so I know no other programs are running. any ideas?

Problem with Calendar Reminders :(

First off - Sexiest Rom ever :)

Only problem I found so far is, sometime Calendar reminders keep ringing, but they dont show up on screen.. i donot get the reminder window @ bottom screen .. I think 'LOCK' program is blocking it?

So the calendar keeps on beeping.. no way to press Dimiss/Menu - I have to soft-reset PPC :(

Someone else mentioned this as well. It is strange, though, because it seems to work fine for me. However, I do not have a ton of appointments on a daily/weekly basis. I will do some more testing and see.

2barevo, I have not seen this before. For some reason, it is ringing a bell in my head, but I cannot remember anything specifically. What version of Activesync are you using? You might want to upgrade if you are not using the latest (4.5 I think). Also, you can go to Start\Settings\Connections\USB to PC and uncheck the box. Give that a try. Its not necessarily the fix for your problem, but you may just need to play around with it. You can also flash back to an Official rom and test there. Once it works there, go back to the custom rom.

I'm using your final for VZW and have a question...I don't know that this is in anyway related to your ROM, but I can't open any PowerPoint, Excel, or Word docs that are sent as email attachments. I get an 'A problem with the document was encountered and it cannot be opened' error. Any clues as to why this happening?

Mainly the issue when Device in sstandy, it wakes up for Reminder, but then LOCK prog seems to block it.

You don't need to do that. Just go to Settings -> Buttons and set button 5 to VoiceCommand. The VoiceCommand OEM used in Colonel's ROM doesn't properly configure the button to work "out of the box."

Is there a noticeable improvement from 3.5.7 and the final?

Colonel - What is your setting for "DEVICE LOCK" , I set it to LOCK on WAKE.. Do you use the same thing too?

Make sure that the applications have not been created in Office 2007. In Office 2007 the new application have new file extentions. Ex. Word docs are now *.docx, Powerpoint apps are now *.pptx ect. This would cause this error above.

If this is the case, I remember seeing someone had posted a link to download the new Pocket Office apps from WM6 somewhere, but I cant find it at the moment.

Thanks for the suggestion, but no, they are Office 2003 with the normal extensions (.doc, .ppt, .xls).

This is a recent install of Colonel's Final ROM...so I can't think why the office app would be bad. I'll search around to see if I can find a cab for that and try a reinstall just the same.

great rom! I've tried several other 3.5's and this is the best and most stable by far. between this and my new li-po battery, my phone is usable again!

coolguy, I did some testing yesterday with the calendar appointments and everything seemed to work correctly with DeviceLock set to Lock on Wake. If this is still an issue, can you reproduce it and maybe grab some screen shots? From what I understand from your posts, once you unlock the device the notification option on the left soft key is gone, correct?

colonel, you heard of people getting the unable to open com port message when trying to use usb for the wireless modem?

I can see the Other ROM, and both Sprint and Other patches, but don't see the Sprint ROM.

I used 2 FTP clients, and refreshed...

No. Sadly, I have gotten kinda bored with the rom :( . If there are some major breakthroughs on some things or major upgrades in apps, I will probably not be doing a new version for quite a while. I am still working on a few things such as getting Goodlink working and getting VC to announce over BT as it should in a 3.x rom.

Colonel...I am kind of newbie with flashing my ROM, after I downloaded yours, I saw "OtherCarriers3.5Final" & inside, which file is the installer (ROM)?

Is it the nk.nbf? before I flashing my ROM, should I unlock the extended ROM 1st?

If you are not on Sprint get the other carrier one. Unzip the package into a folder. From there, but your phone in bootloader and click on the ApachUpgrade.exe (looks like a little Apache). Everything else should be done for you.

is anyone having problems with activesunc? it seems to hang up and try and sync for a couple of minutes "looking for changes." then i get an error But it happens randomly. some times it will sync but other times i will get this error. I have tried to plug the 6700 in while on, while off then turning on, with outlook open, with it closed. i have tried to soft reset phone, restart computer. i cant figure the pattern if there is one?

No, the patch is only for those that are making their own rom with the Unified kitchen.

Colonel, has anyone reported a problem with the phone portion of the ROM? My phone seems to answer after the first ring???? I do not have the automatic answer on. I have the newest radio ROM.

Any other ideas, I could try?
