Error 201

I broke my xv6700. I was sent a replacement. Now I'm trying to use the kitchen to upgrade the phone, but at the end I get an error message ERROR 201: GET DEVICE DATA ERROR. What can i do to resolve this?

Re: Error 201

Are you making sure you are using the right REV verison? If you're on Vista DO NOT run in compatability mode or as Admin. But. make sure you turn off USB Connections in Widows Mobile Device Center.

Re: Error 201

I have the same problem: error 201 trying to flash different roms. I have Win xp sp2, WM5, Bootloader 1.04. When I make my 6700 in bootloader mode and then connect it to PC, led does not flash as if no charging is on (is that OK?) then is several minutes I hear a sound like ActiveSync losing connection and in a minute the error message appears.
What do you mean: right REV version? What is REV?
Maybe I should try to flash from storage card but don't know how. Tutorials here contain only info for later models of devices.
Maybe the problem is bootloader v. 1.04. Where can I find v. 2.02?

Re: Error 201

Rev Version is the dropbox in the kitchen in the top right section that is supposed to match your bootloader version. You do not want 2.02, nor do i think you can upgrade to 2.02.

Try the basics first. If you already have your PIM data backed up, do a hard reset on the phone (two soft keys plus reset button). Then try a different USB port, NO HUBS.

Re: Error 201

The 1.xx version and 2.xx version can not mix. They actually represent different hardware versions. 1.04 is the newest of the 1.xx It works fine. Reverting bootloaders almost never makes things better.
