Not getting any sound for sms alerts

Anyone ever have this problem? Im not using any custom sounds or anything, i have the "play sound" box checked and i also tried a soft reset still no luck.

yeah, i'd definately like to know as well. my brother-in-law has the same problem with his altell 6700

Which ROM are you using? Can you give us a little more info (using a certain threaded messaging app, etc)?

usin kirvins clean and simple.. it seems to have stopped out of nowhere.. but I downloaded the .cab to stop delivery confirmation and did the mms registry edit for vzw

I am using Mario's latest release and I do not have sound from SMS alerts either.

Try looking here : Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications

If you have threaded SMS, then you have to look for that specific notification in order to assign a tone to it.

i had the same problem, its real simple. Like jamesus said go to Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications and enable Programs >and Notifications (alarms, reminders)

no, my brother in law isn't using any outside programs/roms. using the stock alltel rom, stock sms program. i've checked all the settings, they are all correct, it just doesn't work. i've been trying to get him to take the phone in but he just never gets around to it
