Can I use PRM regedit on the PC?

Also...how does the PRL get changed? Is this something that's affected when you flash your phone? If so, could it be that the WM6.1 Apache 20755 build is loading the wrong PRL when the sprint carrier is chosen?

No, I don't think the PRL gets changed. I have never tried to change a phone to a non-native carrier. But if even if the WM6.1 rom works. You can't program a phone on Sprint without official ROM.

I'm totally fine with flashing back to the sprint ROM - but there has to be a way somehow to access the system registry from my PC so that I can bypass the align screen. If I can get past the align screen, then sprint can activate it.

If I can't, the phone's a brick.

(Once sprint activates, THEN I can flash the WM6.1 ROM...right?)

EDIT: and the two RegEdit programs I've found that load to the PC are CERegEditor and Total Commander. CERegEditor CANNOT get the phone to give it access to make changes.
And I flat can't FIND the phone when I navigate through the computer in Total Commander. *pulling out hair (and I got 4 feet of it to pull, too...!)*

You can also use Pocket Controller Pro or Enterprise and it will also allow editing of the registry from the PC

Yep you can flash to WM6.1 after you're done with activating it.

Uhh, you're on a Mac? Tell your company to get a real computer!

ROFL!!!! I work for Hallmark - they're the largest Mac user on the planet (over 1200 artists) - we keep Adobe in business....

I chose a Mac at work for "freedom" purposes (you should see how they lock out the PC folks here...you need admin privileges to sneeze...geeeeez!)

I'm not activated yet, but I'm 2 significant steps closer, so...THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

I edited the registry with Pocket Controller Pro (sweet program, BTW) and swapped out the PRL for Sprint's.

Now when I dial *2 I hear a very nice "welcome to sprint"!

But the ## codes won't work - and level 2 technical support still can't figure out how to activate the phone. Especially when their system says it *is* activated....on their end...

PDAPhoneJunkie, you mentioned "and stuff" when you said i needed to load the sprint PRL. Any idea what that all might be - or where I might go to find out? Again, I'm running a stock sprint wm5.0 that I flashed the phone with before I got started down this path.

At this point, I'm not sure what to do except replace the digitizer and THEN turn the phone over to a sprint store to get messed with and reset by one of their techs.

I took it by a store yesterday, and they immediately hard-reset the phone, which, of course, wiped out my nice "SkipWelcome" I'd added to the registry (*sigh*)....

I warned them! of course, they come back and tell me "We can't do anything with it, because your screen doesn't work." DUH.

Find a slacker kid or a young girl to just give you a new phone. Doing PRL and using sotck ROM should do it. But if not I don't know what else. Just go in another store and act really polite and kill the girl with your kindness.
