Help! Internet Sharing tooo Slow!!

We use our phones to connect through Internet Sharing... my wifes phone connects just fine to both computers with decent download speeds but my phone with the same setup connects at only around 100kb/s... (wife 809kb/s) on same pc. Both phones are using the same exact rom - Helmi's windows 6.1... (PPC 6700, Alltel)

Does anyone have a clue why my phone would be so much slower to connect than hers? Should I redo the phone with a different ROM? Is there a setting on the phone that can be tweaked?

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated because these speeds stink!

(theorizing here), do you have different hardware versions (for instance a red sprint logo vs a yellow?)

Both phones are exactly the same.
