recieving texts 160 letters or more

well im new to this site and i must say its great. i have a xv6700 and i searched and couldnt find anything so im here. i want to know if theres a program or something i can do to receive long text messages because i cant get texts more then 160 letters or more. and is there a way i can enable mms (picture messaing on this) i have verizon and have all data blocked and that includes picture messages. thanks

Unfortunately the way the SMS feature works over the cell network is that each message is sent in a 160 character packet.

It's not physically possible at the moment to send or recieve one single text message more than 160 characters.

The best that can happen is if you send/recieve a message over 160 characters is that it gets broken into multiple messages.

but the thing is i dont even receive ANYTHING like anything when someone sends me one over 160.

Then that's a carrier issue. If someone sends me a long text over 160 characters then I recieve several. Contact your provider.

And the best way to send messages in one shot that are more than 160 characters are simply through MMS.

i also have another problem. whenever i go to calibrate my screen my xv6700 freezes and i have to reset that and one more problem is my backlight every hour or so randomly decides to shut itself off and then i have to go into settings and turn it back on again

Not sure about the screen problem. But if it has cto do with backlight, it could be because you're holding down the power buton too long or hit it too many times when wanting to wake it up. That's an old well known 6700 problem.
