WPA AES and WM6 on utstarcom

hi, I have a wm6.1 on my ppc6700. my girlfriend's linksys is setup with wpa-aes.

i can't connect. actually whether it's TKIP or AES it will never connect. I tried the same at my house with my linksys router to no avail.

question:

1) does wm6 really support WPA or is it just there in the software but my ppc6700 will never be able to support it?

2) if does support it, why can't I connect? is there a special setting for my mobile device? I really really really prefer wpa, so WEP is out of question.

3) do I need to convert the passphrase into hex or something???

Re: WPA AES and WM6 on utstarcom

I'm kind of thinking only WPA-PSK is supported. It's a hardware/driver issue for the WIFI chip, not just Windows Mobile.

WPA is supported but not in AES. You will need to use TKIP.

Yes. TKIP is a must. And if you're not using the latest build in the LennySHs then it won't work. But if using Helmi's you shouldn't have a problem.

Re: WPA AES and WM6 on utstarcom

ok thanks.

I should have the latest helmi ( I flashed my rom beginning summer) and I used WPA-PSK TKIP.

it keeps on saying that I entered the wrong password.

Re: WPA AES and WM6 on utstarcom

Then that means you might have the older Lenny SH builds. Check it in Start>Settings>System>About

Re: WPA AES and WM6 on utstarcom

I think that's LennSH build but not the newest one. Use this one. WiFi WPA and Bluetooth appear to be working
