Are you still around?
I think I know the fix.

reboot with both soft keys pressed (recorder and explorer symbols)

use same two buttons to change 'clear memory' (or something close to that) to 'yes' (leave the other two 'no'). with 'yes' still selected hit the third soft button with the camera symbol (bottom right).

it will clear and you should be ok, i think

That's a hard reset, it's been suggested multiple times, and he has done it multiple times.

On the PPC6700, there is a "master reset" code... ##786#.
I know this works on older Sprint phones and some newer ones- you'll need an MSL. I know Verizon's system is different, but someone with more knowledge can probably tell you if this has a chance of working.
This code would actually wipe ALL programming from the device and allow a complete restoration of the firmware as well as software.

I suppose that I'm a retard. No way to do this without being in the phone application. Which is obviously impossible if the phone won't boot.
Sorry.

Off the top of my head... I once had a computer that had gotten a corrupt MBR and nothing I did (even linking to another computer) worked. What did work was when I removed the HD and had a friend look at it using a Linux machine. I wonder if a Linux box could establish a connection- at least enough to be able to flash the ROM? Probably not, but just dreaming...
