As Before, I will be delighted to TEST as well.

I have BT working for everything but PAN and I have two laptops.

BTW, I got both GMaps and Maps4PDA to work with the GPSPort and my Solar BT GPS. Way Cool!

Can any 1 help with Iguidence? I have the bluetek and it worked fine in ROM 2... But now that I am on 3.5, It doesn't want to connect- that and google maps can find it either.

Thanks for all the hard work!

The ROM Rox!

in case you haven't figured out how to use iguidance and BigJ's 3.5, while I don't have the bluetek unit [i have holux m1000], go to bluetooth settings and add the bluetek gps and pair the gps unit with the 6700, check off serial port service then under com ports, select a com port [anything other than 0 because iG doesnt' play nice with com 0] through trial and error i found that com 6 works for me - funny how i've only been able to get the even # com ports to work. then make sure "secure connection" is UNCHECKED. this is something that has a lot of people stumped.

Now you should be able to start up iG - i assume u're using 3.0.1 under gps options select the corresponding com port that you created in bluetooth settings and you wait a few minutes and your gps should be located.

if u're intent on using google maps, that's pretty easy as well. under start/settings/connections, you should find a little GPS app run it and under hardware tab, choose the same com port that you created earlier and close the GPS app - don't worry about the other tabs - [i think the software tab allows you to share com ports via software if u're using multiple programs at the same time that need access to ur GPS unit. Now start up googlemaps program and click Menu and select track location (gps) and within seconds the map should change from default [San Francisco] to your location. That's all thats needed to get it to work. hope this helps.

MemMaid problem

The IE cache is set to 14848 kb. In MemMaid I reduce the IE cache. MemMaid then soft resets so the change will take effect. When I check in MemMaid again, the cache size is back to 14848 kb. I can change it to Extended ROM but not the cache size.

I don't know if it's a MemMaid problem or if BigJ's ROM is resetting the cache size. Any ideas?

Thanks Guys!

rycelover, dancadman:

Thanks for the information! Ill give it try. I miss the map stuff on the AKU 2.2 and would love to get it back. Not that I use it a lot, but it is nice to show it of sometimes.

JBabey:

First off... i'm a noob... sorry... deal with it...

Ok... i'm not sure what the hell happened. I ran thru the instructions carefully, and ran the APACUpgradeUt_noID.exe file to upgrade.

Followed instructions and put it into bootloader mode, connected to USB, clicked next, it searched around, prompted me to upgrade rom, i hit next... then it gave me an error saying "This ROM update utility is not designed for your device. Please get the proper ROM Upgrade Utility and try again!"

I have a Verizon XV6700... not sure what other info you guys might need to help me out... anything is appreciated!

Edit: once running the update exe, a screen comes up that looks like it is supposed to display the current version of things, and teh version it will update to... but everything is blank. Both the Updated From: and To: version numbers are missing. Not sure if that helps and/or means anything...

I have this rom for while now and it starting to give me problems like it freezes every now and then and then it have to softreset...

the whole thing is really slow...
how can I fix my problem.. I just want to go reset to factory default and reinstall everything again...I have lots of aftermarket software but they are in my memory stick so that shouldnt be a problem.

I have never had the 'from' line update correctly (since flashing to a non-official ROM), but the 'to' line always works correctly for me.

I'm thoroughly confused now... i dont know whats going on. I even downloaded it from the other linked source in the first post. Tried it again... again, the To: version numbers didnt show up. Same result... upgrade didnt succeed.

For u guys with the BT GPS issues, this was posted over @ pdaphonehome and it alleviated my problems completely. I am however using verizonguys rom for time being. the cab file @ bottom took care of things for me nicely:
