I've used it before and I like it. I wish it had skinning capabilities, but whatever. From my experience, it was very stable and cause no issues that I could trace back to it for the phone.

I havent gotten phone suite to work as advertised. I cant get the appointment profile to switch (and you cant change what type of appointment or status triggers a certain profile). I think the timed profile is also stupid. to switch to a timed profile, you need to have the timed profile selected. I have heard good things about phone weaver from sbsh though, although I havent tried it yet.

BT Issues related to PA?

I tried my BT GPS last night and like TinMan, I had a similar issue. I tried to turn on the BT using PA and it lit up, but when I went to the BT settings, it wasn't checked as being on. Tried with Comm Manager also and still no go. I did notice that in Comm Manager, the BT Icon looked different than the others. When I turned it off, the border of the BT Icon disappeared. I turned it back on, and wasn't green but looked different than others, still not working though. I did a soft reset, then it came on fine. It has been ok since then. I haven't tried changing profiles yet, but I'll test that theory out later today if I get a chance. Otherwise it seems to be working great!

I have an idea about the themes. I'm not a programmer so, I'm not sure what the difficulty level of doing this would be. It would be nice to store the themes on our storage card and use a program of some sort to change between the themes so they would overwrite the files in the main memory. Maybe even allow a theme changer that could be setup to change themes on a daily basis or whatever interval the user wished. That might even make a good commercial app.

Keep up the good work Big J!

Thanks,
Dan

Edit: Sorry, I just saw the post about the BT issues that Big J has addressed. I guess we will just have to wait or grin and bear it.

I am using PhoneWeaver currently and I love it. The thing it lacks is the notifications for missed calls, emails, etc. I personally don't need the constant notifications reminders, which is why I switched from Phone Suite to PhoneWeaver. I am mostly concerned with the profile switching, and PhoneWeaver is great for it.

big j,
do you think I should reflash or just delete the set up profiles? I kind of figured that the profiles were the ones messing it up..I was on BT on and off all day yesterday with no issues...

the phone suite seems to do the "basics" but your right, its not skinnable and the profiles are a pain in the @ss to setup.

Im going to attempt a 2-way approach for r1.4u and put in phonealarm, disable the profiles, remove the profile icons again, and setup phoneweaver for those that are interested in profiling for the handset.

This way you can just leave phonealarm on the HOME (ill make a mario icon for it or something, and use phoneWeaver to change profiles.

Deal?

guess 1.4 will be out sooner than expected >< Ill get working on it after my finals on thursday, I dont have much studying to do this weekend.

EDIT: soggy, just disable the profiles in PA and soft reset, if you need phoneweaver in the interim PM me and ill send you my copy so you can still use profiles

Running with BT on all day. I re-enabled PA after paring and connecting my BT with no crashes or lock ups.
Sorry to make you have to read the PA forum for 2 hrs! ugh. Nice of you to do though!
