1.6u.1 ...? grrrrr mbe it puts the stupid volume slider back to being "invisible" its kinda annoying watching it popup. ill take a look and see if anything dramatic has changed worth re-flashing... may just make a cab file . New/Fixed in v1.60.1: (Build 156) * Fix: lock-up on pop-up menu * Fix: Ringtone not always restored after mute * WAD v1.3 support added * Allow Network snapshot to be deleted * Fix: Custom repeat delays * Fix battery drain issue on HTC S200 * System vibration option in Advanced settings correctly supported a lockup on a pop-up menu..... that could be an issue. .... maybe i should just rollback to the 1.58final haha, j/k, may need to core update. i hate pocketmax... most likely a cab file to update though, im just plain sick of flashing my phone..... heres what ill do, make a cab update for those that use the program and dont want to reflash, and ill "silently" update the rar download links with an updated rom for those who have not flashed yet.

So, I wanted to see what everyone was talkin' about. So I flashed your ROM this afternoon. I'll say that I'm impressed with many aspects. Some that I thought I would be and some I was surprised about.
First, what I knew I'd like and confirmed: I like the intetgration of PA. (more about this later) I like most of the programs/utilites. I like how well BT works. I like how darned FAST it is. Probably has to do with the tweaks and XCPUScalar... What I didn't know/think that I'd like but do like: I like the games. I like the Today screen setup, especially the calendar. The AlarmClock. HandySwitcher. I think that it is as good as WisBarLite and doesn't seem to cause the hangs that I now think I can attribute to that program. What I'm not so fond of that I thought I'd like: The way PA settings look and how it actually works. Without it residing in the Program Files folder, the cabs that install skins don't do so correctly. When I open the settings, skins from other Windows files that use .SKN suffix show up in the drop down list. The Today calendar is not as configurable as I'd like. I can't set the height to be constant. I can't find any other internal calendar other than the OEM one. And it sucks. I might try to install PocketInformant (which I love). What I thought I wouldn't like but wanted to give a chance- but confirmed that I didn't like it: WeatherPanel. Well, this one isn't really fair... I couldn't even find it. UI Tweak. Tried it before and didn't like it. Still seems like it takes more to use this than just going to the Today Settings. I don't really care about the other stuff it does. PimBackup- doesn't work any better here than on Colonel's ROM. SpeedDials never get restored properly. LVM time. I'd be just as happy getting the time/date in the topbar. So, is there a place to get the OEMs and settings for the items I like so I can combine them with OEMs from other Kitchens to make a ROM that is PERFECT for ME? I hope you don't take this as an insult... it's not. I like what you've done and it has given me some ideas.

I'm about to try something that's either genius or retardation.
I made a backup of my setup on Colonel's ROM. I'm now going to restore that backup on this ROM using Sprite's ROM upgrade utility. My hope it that it gives me the programs from the previous ROM with the settings/tweaks from this one. We'll see soon. |

Sorry to bitch here... but the core reason I stopped using PA was that they rush with a new version every so often without properly testing / fixing

PA skins, you can install them and just copy them to /windows/ or break them out of the cab and copy the files yourself... OR open the cab, change the default installation directory to /windows/ and then install it. you got options. Weatherpanel is under the todayscreen items... just put a check in the box next to it, and it shows up on the todayscreen. PIM Backup has issues restoring speed-dials, its just a fact of life unfortunately. The author is working to get it functional but well just have to make do. shoot me a link to pocket informant please, id like to take a look, unless its spb software haha. EDIT found it... that program is like 4 megs ... WOW +++++++++++++++ ya PA has some issues, but its still the best one that does what it does .... for better or for worse, ill be uploading 1.6u. later tonight and build a cab tomorow |
