I love everything BigJ has put out. Cant blame him for PA being crap.

list of my issues with PhoneAlarm.

*Causes missed calls due to slow ringtone load times(when screen is turned off. Happens more often when phone is off and bluetooth is enabled)

*Causes repeated hang ups on soft reset (a problem listed on almost ever build on their forum)

*Due to how custom the ROM is some features (sms filtering, sms forwarding, call forwarding) DO NOT WORK.

If someone can test it out and get it working let me know!
Call forwarding with Verizon seems and this 1.5 rom seems to be working fine for me. Are you sure you know how to configure using the Forwarding Fix config. For me *72 and *73 seem to work.

I have noticed with PhoneAlarm that the volume slider window keeps popping open regularly. Also, the phone shuts down when I'm connected at work to the USB connection eventhough I have it set for 60 minutes. Also, I don't remember losing the USB connection when it shuts down. Is that supposed to happen?

JBabey,

I for one, love this rom. I would hate to see Phonealarm taken out. It matches the programs I would put in my own rom if I had the time to figure it out almost exactly.

The whole point of custom roms is that they're custom! You can't please everybody becuase everyone has different ideas of what should be in the rom. If somebody doesn't like the rom they should try another one, or heaven forbid, make their own. Keep on doing what you're doing... I am gratefull for all the time you and others have put into making these roms and sharing with everyone else.

And another thing... these are beta roms. Some of you need to google "beta" and find out what that means. After someone issues a "final" version then maybe you could hope that there won't be problems (and even at that you haven't paid for the development of the rom).

Thanks! I actually got it to work on a friends device. It was 2 problems all together. I was in roaming so it takes about 3 seconds for my phone to light up when I get a call. Then I have my ringtones saved on my sd card which also Takes time to load. Changed a setting and what do you know... Thanks again for checking it out for me

The DUN profile is needed with BT in order to use the standard windows Dialup networking dialer on laptop running WinXP.

Someone reported that the sprint dialer can use a serial port. I havent tried that.

Excellent work!

Well, I can't comment on the transferring files via BT, but my BT GPS worked great on the first try! No endless spinning logo or any other BT problems as far as my GPS goes. I now understand why one of the other users wanted the GPS icon to be available. For anyone that uses or wishes to use BT GPS, you can set the phone to use whatever com port you wish for the device itself, then you can tell the phone to use another port so you can use multiple GPS programs at once without the need for GpsGate. GpsGate has some other useful features, but if you don't need them it saves some additional space. Anyway BT GPS is working great under the 1.5uBg build.

PA is also working well. The only weird thing I have noticed is with the profile switching. Big J said he doesn't use that feature anyway, so that may be why it went unnoticed. I noticed that after I added the profiles I wanted, it wouldn't change to the others when I picked them. It turns out that there no settings setup for those. I manually went in and set them up the way I wanted, and now it works great. The only other issue I have with PA is trying to use the WiFi icon. I'm using the B&W Pure skin which I like a lot, but the WiFi has never worked right for it anyway.

I decided to ditch SPB Diary and use the plugins that BigJ already had installed and I must say, it so much faster and I don't really miss the SPB like I thought I would.

I also like the Sonic theme very much!

As always, great job Big J!

I could be satisfied with ROM!

Thanks
DanCADMan

the speed dial i have implemented allows you to use pic-dialing. Go into the settings for it on the today setup and you can toggle it to pictures.

Anyways thanks for the feedback via GPS, thats fantastic. Im working on PAN right now but i wouldnt expect anything until at least wed, cuz i have 2 finals on tuesday im studying for.

Big J,
I ran into some issues today. My sounds didn't play when I got a call or emails. And yes the phone profile was on home with 100% as the volume so that wasn't it. The rings are on the phone and not the card. Also my voicemail icon(or notification) didn't show up yesterday; it showed up today when I got a message. I had 2 messages from sunday and one today. The notifacation sound didn't play either....along with my phone ringing from todays message...I have soft reset so we'll see how it goes...I'll post back.

I haven't moved to the 1.5u beta yet (I'm still on the 1.4u one)...however I've finally figured out a couple of things.

The dreaded bluetooth problem for one. After jacking around with this for many many hours, I found a way that 100% turns it back on all the time.
1. Remove EVERYTHING from your today screen.
2. Open comm-manager, goto settings/bluetooth settings.
3. If the 'enable or turn on bluetooth' isn't checked...select it.
4. Move to another tab (like Comm ports)
5. Go back to the 1st tab. You will see that it's still selected (whoohoo, it's on!)
6. Put the stuff back on yer today screen.

Oddly enough - I know its really a problem with phone alarm, however you have remove ALL from yer today screen, not just the phone alarm, in order to get the BT to turn back on.

If that doesn't work - drink 3 beers quickly and try again. If it still fails, continue this process until a) it works, or b) you pass out from too much beer. This way it will be working - or you just won't care.
