I am not able to change the default 'Alarm' ring tone sine maybe 1.3u.
Using PhoneWeaver I tried changing to a nice midi tone they have - it's not working either to change the morning 5:00 AM alarm for me. Any insights ? |

Hi there...
Long time lurker, first time poster.
Let me just say that I LOVE the Mario rom series, and can't use anything else on my phone. The functionality is amazing. Having said that, I've been having some issues with the most recent builds, and it seems I'm the only one. The two biggest issues I have are my bluetooth not turning on until I hard reset it, and the Wireless Manager forgetting my settings. I have to constantly recreate the SSID and WPA key . Another more minor issue that is an annoyance more then anything is that if I don't catch a reminder right away I lose it. What I mean by that is the reminder goes off, and then hides in the background. The left soft button changes from 'SMS' to 'Notification' and should allow me to access and dismiss the reminder. When I try to access the reminder after this has happened it won't show me the reminder, and all future reminders are so hidden as well. Once this has happened I lose the use of the soft buttons completely until I soft reset. When I soft reset I can dismiss all the reminders at once. None of these issues occurred in the 1.3b release, ( I think that is the one, it was the first one released with the Metroid theme anyways) After the hard reset I make the SMS reg edit, I change my keyboard backlight to 60 seconds, I change my PIE temp folder to the storage card, I make the vibrate registry setting, and I add the GPRS disconnect button. If anyone has any advice on these I'd love to hear it! Thank you for all the hard work BigJ, I love the rom!! |

in regards to your TEMP file location.... does the SD card show up in the file explorer? if you remember back, the sd card randomly dissapears. This is an APACHE driver issue, and not related to the ROM, there are several threads that will help you with the dissapearing/reappearing SD card. Im sorry i cant be more help. When mine dissapears, i pull it out, soft reset through xcpuscalar or memmaid (remember hitting the button wipes your cache out, and using a program forces the cache to write to the ROM b4 it resets). Open the file explorer (resco or the default). and put the card in... wait 4-5 seconds and it should pop up. NOW go and choose your temp location. the card will show up in the dropdown. RE: the notifications... that happens to me when i use the PIM Backup tool. Reason is this..... it resets all of your notifications on a restore, so by default youll have a sh!t ton of duplicates. You can resolve this in three ways.... 1: go into all of your re-occuring events and shut off the reminders, or modify them... like set it to 20 minutes... and BACK to 15 and hit ok. This will force the notification to "reset". 2: open memmaid and open the 2nd tab over from the left. Have it check for & remove duplicate notifications. 3: open memmaid, use the FAR left tab and check the cleaner to look for duplicate AND dangling notifications. Run the clean (not scan). It will clean out and remove the notifications that are causing your phone to error. 4: backup your PIM.VOL file in the future before flashes. I only use the PIM backup tool now when my PIM.VOL file gets over a meg. I backup... delete my PIM file and restore, typically cuts my pim.vol size down 300-400k in size. BUT it resets all my notifications. Quote:
Now next to the item that says "WAVE file:" use the dropdown and choose whatever wav file alarm sound you like. (must be in the /windows/ directory) but you can put any wav file you want there and it will show up in the list. Quote:
(BTW, this program kicks @ss, thanks for the heads up)

Any way to use a midi ? PhoneWeaver has the option but it is not being picked up. |

1) My bluetooth works as expected in 1.3b, and then acts funny once the device is flashed to some of the other version. This sort of defeats the hardware idea in my mind. If I drive in in the morning connected to my headset, and don't turn the bluetooth off during the day I find that it is turned off when I leave. When I try to turn it on it pauses a few seconds and won't turn on. If I soft reset it starts up with the bluetoother turned on. In the 1.3gb or 1.3gb2 release this didn't happen. 2) SSID and WPA refer to Wifi settings. Overall through the builds I've had a lot of trouble with connecting to Wifi. Some of the revisions (.95 and .96 among others) wouldn't allow me to connect to wifi at all. This isn't a big deal, I can simply put the password in every time and I'll be fine. Usually if I am having this trouble in the wireless then I can't connect to GPRS unless I do a soft reset. Again, in the 1.3gb or 1.3gb2 release this didn't happen. 3) The temp folders work fine, I was just trying to let you know the customizations I've done. I've never had my SD card disappear on my device. 4) I don't use PIM backup, I actually get my contacts and appointments through sync with my server at work. I'll play with the memaid settings and see if that helps. Thanks for the advice, and good luck on your finals!! (just took my last final last night myself, I feel your pain) |

This is the main reason I posted. This has ALWAYS happened with the Mario builds, but in the 2 or 3 days I ran 1.3 b it never happened once. I'm actually going to flash back and see if I am making a conclusion that isn't accurate. |

went back to 1.3 beta lol
1.4 was turning off by itself. not quite sure why. another thing I noticed PA in 1.4 did not let me get configure option which I like, anyway to bring it back in 1.4 when I reinstall it, should I uninstall PA and reinstall PA from 1.3? Ok figured the shutdown problem I was hitting XPCpuscan icon on the bottom boy the screen is sensative. I disabled that icon lol ok installed PA from 1.3 after reinstalling 1.4 and configure option is back |
