How to erase everything to sell the 6700

Tired of using this phone, played with an iPhone at the Apple store and wow, superior to this phone in pretty much every single way so I'm probably going to switch over and sell this phone, so I'd like to know how to permanently erase all my personal information off this thing so I can sell it to someone who will enjoy it more then me. I used one of the kitchens on here to put WM6 on the phone.

Re: How to erase everything to sell the 6700

You can hard reset and erase everything but being I also used to have an iPhone and sold it, I am wondering how you think the iPhone is superior? No registry, no camera, no alternative ROMs, less available software, no changing of the battery, no overclocking, jailbreak to brick, no physical keyboard, no HD, no networking capabilities and the list goes on and on. You may think the iPhone looks more cool and in a way it does but dont buy into at this time because the iPhone only paved the way for new devices to take from it and improve in more ways.

Yep. You covered it WAH. Like I said, the iPhone LOOKS awsome. But is not very functional. I also hate how Apple acts like they've come up with such original features...

But I do admit I think they laid down the way for new devices that will take some from the iPhone and make better phones. I mean seriously, WTF was Apple thinking when they dropped a 500-600 phone with no cam and no picture mail?

Re: How to erase everything to sell the 6700

Well I didn't think I'd have to defend my decision, yeah at first it was fun playing with this phone and using the kitchens to add wm6 and all of that. I'm not saying the iPhone is the second coming of christ but I was alot more impressed with it then my 6700. Built in GPS, 8 and 16GB models, No camera?? The one I played with at the store had a camera? No networking capabilities? What does that even mean? It uses the data network and I'm pretty sure it picks up wifi too. For my current minutes plan + unlimited data, AT&T is $10 cheaper. Do I really need a registry to edit or alternate ROM's? No.. Less available software..The iPhone has on it pretty much all I need to use, and have you seen the neat things the App store has? Do we really need to overclock our phones, jesus. Having a physical keyboard is your preference. I want to put alot of my music and videos on it, how much can you really fit on one of these sd cards? And what's that about HD video? I watched a video on the iphone and it looked damn nice, and the iphone supports h264 codec (isn't that HD?). There are some annoying bugs with this phone that even carried over from wm5 to wm6, maybe they're fixed by now, but I don't even want to bother with it. The battery life on this thing has always been **** since day one (yes I read forums on best ways to save battery life), one of my girl friends has an iPhone and gets way better battery life, and I'm pretty sure you can actually turn the iPhone totally OFF if you want to. Also, the 6700 is about twice as heavy, twice as think, and isnt the screen smaller? I don't understand how you're saying the iphone is not that functional have you used one? Email, gps w/ google maps, music/video capabiities, "the list goes on and on". And all of those are pretty much seamlessly integrated, and I'm pretty sure Apple's support for bugs, updates, or phone problems is equal to or greater then Microsoft/Verizon/Sprint. I took my phone into Verizon one time and they looked at it like they never saw it before, they don't even carry them in the stores. The Apple store will help you with everything. Yeah I know you guys just write me off as an idiot that will come back to wm just because I'm not a 6700/wm fanboy with 600 posts. I'm not one of those guys that needs to feel self accomplished by creating custom kitchens or roms and putting them on the phone, or overclocking my phone, I'm sure that's a real conversational piece on the internet.

Well, I didn't call you anything, but I didn't experience any noticeably slow loading speeds on the iPhone if that is what you are referring to. Again I'm not trying to sell anyone an iPhone, but for me and what I like in a phone and my impression of it, it is alot better then the 6700. And well this isn't exactly a neutral forum since everyone reading most likely is obviously obsessed with their 6700 and here I am calling it a piece of garbage. So we can agree to disagree, I just wanted to know how to get all my information off it so I can pass it to someone else who might enjoy it like I did for the first 6 months or so.

Re: How to erase everything to sell the 6700

No one is telling you NOT to get one........LOL.......Like I said, I used to have one. However, I found this link this morning and thought of you. It is an iPhone with a dual boot system of Apple and WM so you could get this and have both but still there are some hardware limitations. When I said lack of camera earlier I said that wrong. Yes, it has a cam and takes damn good and fast pics but no video camera.

Re: How to erase everything to sell the 6700

Well, you guys were trying to make my decision sound like a very bad one as if I'm buying into the hype of the iPhone and blindly buying one. I had no opinion of the thing until I actually played with one for a half an hour, and it's features suite me alot better then what 6700/wm6 are currently giving me, I'm pretty much bored with it, and do we all really think bugfixes/updates for wm6 are really that high on Microsoft's priority list? The 6700 has pretty much come and gone as far as Verizon is concerned, they have moved onto better models, it's not even available to buy on their website anymore.

And I don't really care about keeping the wm on an iPhone, I like the Iphone OS better
