problems upgrading to 6.1

OK, so please no flames, i have searched and thought i found all my problems but i still get hung uup trying to use the kitchen to upgrade to 6.1. Now everything is set up and built the rom i want. Because i use Vista, i opened the kitchen in administrator like i read to, i turn off the usb connection as told to in active sync. i put my phone in bootloader (ver. 1.00), and all i get is the first screen that it is checking information on your device... please wait. How long should this take, after like 30 mins i am afraid its going to kill my battery. i watched the video on youtueb and followed it the same. I recently upgraded to AKU3.3 withought a problem. Any ideas? Thank you... Ryan

Re: problems upgrading to 6.1

Something in RUU froze up. And for me, running kitchen as admin won't work. All I do is turn off USB connections. Also you said you're on Vista, you mean Windows Mobile Device Center right? ActiveSync is not for Vista. And when I use XP the kitchen will NOT work if I have USB connections in ActiveSync off. It looks to me like you're doing it right. Not sure how much good it will do, but watch my videos on flashing. Link in is my signature.

Re: problems upgrading to 6.1

yeah thats what i meant the mobile device center. but yeah i watched your video just to make sure. thats how i saw the usb had to be off. i am going to try again, maybe just not as he administrator abd see if that makes a difference. its just odd i can do the aku 3.3 upgrade withought a problem, as i had to flash it twice so far as i froze up in bootloader once tryN to get 6.1 different ways.

Re: problems upgrading to 6.1

ok, i figured it out. i did need to turn off the usb connections so that fixed that and i didnt realize that when i flashed to aku 3.3 that it changed my bootloader to 1.04 and i was still trying to flash to 1.00 that i was running at the begining. WM6.1 is up and running just have to reflash it again removing programs that are not funtioning properly to speed it up a lil bit. Thanks for the tips.
