Not bad boubert! If you do get a 6800 from a broken 6700, then all the more power to you!

So, what I'm getting from all this discussion is that there's really no good reason to upgrade to the 6800... sound about right?

Out of curiousity, can someone maybe explain why it is that we're not outraged at the idea of a phone with less than 100MB of storage memory? If they can put 2gb of info on a minisd card, which is sold for less than $30, even at full retail prices (can be found for $15 or less online).. why can't they give us at least a gig of storage memory in the phone?

The 6700 and the soon-to-be-released 6800 are business phones. Sure you can buy them as a consumer but the target market is businesses. What use does the average corporate user have for 2 gigs of storage?

Also RAM is much faster than flash memory. Look at all the problems people have putting today screen plugins and some programs on the storage card. Imagine trying to put everything including the OS on flash memory. RAM can be overwritten and erased almost indefinitely. Flash memory has a set "write life."

Can it be done? Soon, when flash technology advances. But not now.

Really now how much "porn" I mean information do you need to store on your phone?

Well for long trips, 2 gigs will barely give you 8 hours of video, let alone any maps for the GPS software. Then you have the whole trip back home where you have no new videos to watch. Obviously if you have a data plan and Orb then you're okay, but only if you have a data plan and the EVDO coverage is good where you are traveling.....

Then there is the pocket Wikipedia. If you want all the text and pictures then it is 2 gigs just by itself!

So on a daily basis I may not need or use the 2 gigs of storage, but there is definetely times where I do and wish I had more. So if MS would just start to support HDSD cards I'd be happy! :D

Exactly,

I've got 4 2gb memory cards full of data... Music, videos, GPS maps, business files, games and programs that I use, etc.

Why would I waste time looking at porn on a 4" diagonal screen? I have a 24" widescreen monitor on my desktop for fun time.

but it'd sure be nice to be able to keep my GPS maps stored on the phone, so I could choose which SD card full of music I want to listen to, while riding my motorcycle cross country.
