Re: 2D manilla on apache?
Ok so after playing with it for a while it sure is cute and pretty fast. only complaint(s) being the UI was not developed for our soft keys and they dont change. pretty slick but needs some work for sure....

Re: 2D manilla on apache?
I found out the "fix" cab actually works by putting a specific manila.exe that all the other cabs do not use. All the other cabs actually use the same "other" manila.exe with different added files..
The interface seems quick only Because it is all in memory until you select something, then it goes to open something with normal speed limitations of your device. I say limitations because it you do not configure which files are cooked and which files are cab loaded, you will have certain issues of not opening things you like right away or not at all, due to your devices memory management. I think thats why it works better with the newer Builds. I am trying to see which files i really need to slim this down. We need a slimmed down version because it likes to soak in and hold 10megs for everything to be "on stanby" for use... Even though I can just use more efficient progs like HTC Home and not use this, the interface is so cool you don't want to go back.. Last edited by Maxx134; 10-05-2008 at 09:17 PM. |

Re: 2D manilla on apache?
all you need to get it started is the fix cab or oem. the rest you add depends on what you want to use.
I suggest just start with kitchen oem AND fix OEM here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...327#post438327 If you try adding the cab fix after it seems to soak up more memory... from there you hav a good working base to add (EDIT: OTHER) cabs to , until we have newer OEMs for them.. EDIT: although Kitchen OEM works easiest, it loads album and audio mngr which are older... Album works but audiomngr & google maps need reinstalling with cabs for now Last edited by Maxx134; 10-05-2008 at 11:40 PM. |

Re: 2D manilla on apache?
I noticied the audio manager and maps thing as well. I selectively added the programs I want/use from cabs to the SD Card to save room.
you know the biggest pet peeve I have is how hard it is to just change the ringer to ring/vibrate/silent/auto etc. gotta slide alllll the way over, open settings, select, close. ugh. Last edited by fitbryan; 10-06-2008 at 12:14 PM. |
